I guess there's some fiddling you have to do not to clip out too much of the back edge and so on but overall that might have been simpler. And stop doing quick experiments that look better than my actual experiment :-)Scott Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03393071448515738228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3367557180796013182.post-87804487389709689352021-02-05T08:22:47.783-05:002021-02-05T08:22:47.783-05:00There is no straight edge because there is no actu...There is no straight edge because there is no actual polygon, just an assembly of solid colored trees. But there is a *hard* edge which is not good for outlines and other "hand-painted" features.
Anyways, here is my result: https://imgur.com/mWMpgWI. On one hand it sort of works. On the other one, I fill disappointed because it supposed to be simpler than your method, but it is not with all its tiny issues to solve.watabouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04292277954389932988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3367557180796013182.post-90478280173248897432021-02-05T08:21:47.014-05:002021-02-05T08:21:47.014-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.watabouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04292277954389932988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3367557180796013182.post-18077075350789744952021-02-04T14:13:43.863-05:002021-02-04T14:13:43.863-05:00If I'm understanding your idea correctly, I th...If I'm understanding your idea correctly, I think that would result in the polygon creating a straight edge across the tree outlines along the back?Scott Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03393071448515738228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3367557180796013182.post-39747898242498156402021-02-04T05:34:44.620-05:002021-02-04T05:34:44.620-05:00Great as always!

In theory these solid colour trees will merge into a shape we need (we can even make a gradient out of them) and they will clip regular trees at the back edge of the area the way we need more or less.
Do you think this would work? Sorry for typos, I'm typing on my phone right after reading the post :)watabouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04292277954389932988noreply@blogger.com
